At Curro Burgundy, learners in our mainstream and assisted learning stream all have access to excellent facilities and specialised offerings as part of our school fees.
At Curro Burgundy we created a safe, modern environment where children can grow accustomed to learning and working with modern equipment and facilities as part of our school fees. Our classrooms for teaching in small class sizes are designed to create a feeling of learning through educational decorations, but without causing undue distraction.
Early drop-off time and aftercare
As a Curro School, we accommodate working parents by allowing learners to be dropped off early in the morning (from 06:30) as part of our school fees. Our dedicated teachers prepare our learners for the rest of the school day in small class sizes. Our aftercare service is also available at an additional cost, as stipulated on our fees letter. Learners are accommodated in safe classrooms and playgrounds, and the fees include a freshly prepared meal for lunch and snacks.
Gross motor room
Curro Burgundy’s gross-motor room is designed to allow our occupational therapist to provide personal assistance to learners who need more help than can be provided in the classroom. By improving young learners’ gross motor, fine motor, visual-perception and sensory-motor skills, learners are able to manage their own learning barriers and master basic skills such as reading, writing, cutting, colouring and more.
Our remedial therapist guides learners in social and personal development, setting academic goals and improving anxiety-based behavioural matters. We aim to bridge the gap between where learners currently function academically and where they should function in order to benefit from assisted learning.
Furthermore, our learning support team assist learners in improving in academic areas, with a great focus on reading, spelling, language and mathematics in a small-group environment.
Curro Burgundy virtual tour
Curro Burgundy is an independent Curro School in Bothasig, Cape Town, that provides high-quality education for learners in Grade R and Grade 1, with higher grades phasing in annually. Alongside our mainstream offering, our assisted learning stream accommodates learners from Grade 1 who require additional support. Our approach to specialised education within the mainstream curriculum is meant for learners who need additional support to achieve expected competencies in the core academic skills – literacy and numeracy. Our dedicated teachers and therapists build a close relationship with each learner in our small class sizes, so that their unique educational needs can be accommodated.
