At Curro Burgundy, a Curro School, learners have a variety of activities from which to choose, many as part of the school fees. From Curro Create programmes, to extramural activities and educational excursions, our learners can gain 21st-century skills in nearly any field. Activities such as public speaking and drama provide learners with the skills to find their voice, articulate their thoughts, and present themselves in front of others.
Sports and cultural activities
Culture is one of the foundational pillars of developing a well-balanced learner. As a Curro School, our learners have the opportunity to participate in a variety of cultural activities, regardless of their interests and abilities in academics. Learners in the assisted learning stream may also participate in all cultural activities as part of the school fees.
Furthermore, our sports activities are carefully chosen to inspire physical well-being, which forms an important part of overall health and confidence.
Extramural activities are offered by external tutors or coaches. They are offered at a cost additional to the school fees and generally take place on Curro Burgundy’s premises, after school. Some extramural activities are aimed at improving or supporting academic learning, 21st-century skills or mental and physical development, while others are purely recreational. Learners in the assisted learning stream may also participate in all extramural activities.
We offer Curro Create programmes aimed at helping learners develop their creative talents to their full potential. Curro Arts Superhero (CAS) is an internal creative mentorship platform with a grading element, where learners are encouraged to discover, develop and display their inherent 21st-century skills and creative talents. Learners at our Curro School can also participate in the annual Curro Create National Youth Theatre Festival, wherein schools enter a one-act play in any genre and official language. The winning plays are chosen through a series of adjudications by world-class theatre-makers, who closely mentor learners throughout the process. Learners in the assisted learning stream may also participate in Curro Create.
