Curro Academy Soshanguve has a primary school in Soshanguve East that provides the excellent Curro education to learners from Grade R to Grade 7. We limit our class sizes to no more than 20 to 35 so that learners can get personal attention from their teachers. Teaching takes place in English, learners have Robotics as a subject, and we have an aftercare service until late in the afternoon. Our goal is to give our learners a quality education that gives them a head start in reaching their dreams, whatever these might be.
You get the excellent Curro education
We are committed to providing learners with an excellent education. That is why our approach to teaching the national CAPS curriculum is based on project-based learning and self-discovery. This approach allows our primary school learners to explore the learning material beyond just the textbook through research, experiments and assignments. Regular assessments and tests still take place, but it’s important to us that learners can use their intellectual abilities to make the material real to them in some way. This gives learners a head start in their eventual workplace dreams, because they learn to take initiative and making connections between pieces of knowledge.
How big are the classes
As part of the Curro school group, we control the number of learners per class to be no more than 35, so that our teachers have the time and space to give personal attention to each learner, in exactly the places that they need. This is just one of the ways that we create an environment where your child will enjoy what they learn and love coming to school.
More than academics
We believe that a good education stretches beyond just academics. This is just one of the ways in which we ensure that your child benefits most from the excellent Curro education. Here are a few of the extra programmes your child can enjoy with us:
What happens in Grade R to Grade 7
Our foundation phase starts by helping Grade R learners get ready for the formal learning that starts in Grade 1. In this phase, they learn the basic foundations on which all further learning is based, namely language, mathematics, and life skills. In the intermediate phase, the work becomes less tangible or real, and more abstract. Learners start with project-based learning, through which they do research, assignments, and experiments to explore the material outside just the textbook.
Teaching takes place in English, and learners can choose Afrikaans and Setswana as additional language options. They also have Robotics as a subject up to Grade 7.
Activities your child can enjoy
One part of the excellent Curro education, is that academics are balanced with sports and cultural activities. Participation in activities promote team-awareness, collaboration, and self-confidence. Our focused variety of activities, such as cheerleading and soccer, are tailored to the interests of learners in our area. Your child is sure to find something that will pique their interest.
