Curro Aurora learner gains USA exchange scholarship
11 August 2022Pooja Chunnilall from Curro Aurora was recently awarded an AFS Intercultural Program scholarship as part of an exchange programme. Pooja will attend school in Maryland, USA, for 10 months starting August 2022, while residing with a host family.
Pooja, a Grade 10 learner, explained that her interest in studying abroad started when she joined Curro Aurora in 2017, and she found the AFS organisation through her own research. Her first application dream at the age of 14 fell through due to the global lockdown of the COVID-19 pandemic. After applying again last year, she proceeded through the interviews, proficiency exams and other trials to finally achieve her dream.
