The 2021 Provincial Eskom Science Expo

St Dominics Newcastle has once again made Newcastle proud. The KZN Provincial Eskom Science Expo was held virtually on the 3rd of September 2021.

The "Eskom Expo for Young Scientists is an exposition, or science fair, where students have a chance to show others their projects about their own scientific investigations.”

The Expo gives learners the opportunity to think outside the box, giving them the platform to compete at a Provincial level. St Dominics learners can be proud of their achievements as they have ranked amongst the best in the KZN Province.


Grade 11 award winners

Asma Karim took the Category award, Senior in Agricultural Science and obtained a Gold award.

Lonathemba Mazibuko took the Eskom Special Award for the Best Female and obtained a Gold award. 

Aisha Jadwat took the Category Award for Social Science and obtained a Silver award.

Cusché Kok obtained a Bronze award.

And Olwethu Ximba obtained a Highly Commended award.


Grade 10 award winners 

Ria Prithiraj Ramdas took the Category Award for Biomedical and Medical Science and obtained a Gold award.

Dia Singh obtained a Silver award.

Mvelo Mashinini obtained a Bronze Award.

Senate Lekholoane obtained a Bronze.

Zayna Bam obtained a Bronze.


Grade 9 award winners 

Prisha Shah obtained a Silver.

Olwethu Makhoba a Bronze award.
