Curro Rivonia's stunning first-ever NCV 2 results
The first group of National Certificate Vocational (NCV) learners at Curro Rivonia received their results on 8 February.
The class received a 100 per cent pass rate with 17 distinctions between seven learners who all received their NCV 2 qualification certificate.
As part of the High School FET offering, Curro Rivonia has a private college allowing learners to specialise in areas including IT, computer science and finance, economics and accounting at an early age.
The NCV programme is overseen by the Department of Higher Education. Each year, learners complete a certified qualification from NCV 2 to NCV 4, where NCV 4 is a matric certificate focusing on the specific field of expertise.
Top-performing learner at Curro Rivonia Payal Morar (16) was surprised when she received her results. She received six distinctions out of seven subjects.
Payal said, “I didn’t see it coming. I knew I worked hard and tried my best, but I never expected to do so well. I am very grateful to my lecturers. They always motivated and inspired us to do better.”
Phase head of the NCV programme Francois Vermaak said, “In spite of the challenges of 2020, our staff and learners persevered with the support of parents. I know it’s a cliché, but their hard work really paid off and I am proud of them.”
These learners will complete their NCV 3 certificate this year, with a new group of NCV learners having started NCV 2 in 2021.
