Foundation phase culture

Cultural activities offered:

  • Choir
  • Eisteddfod
  • Music
  • Oratory
  • Debating

Foundation phase: Grades 1 to 3

Curro Langebaan realises the importance of culture in developing a well-balanced learner. Cultural experiences create the opportunity to recognise the diversity of aesthetic events and to develop through them.

Enthusiastic learners and educators are involved in a variety of disciplines, from choir to drama. In this way learners can develop a love for art, regardless of their abilities in sport or academics.

Talent and arts and culture evenings are opportunities where learners can show off their talents.

Categories are the junior and senior choir and the high school singing group. The choirs perform at various events, such as eisteddfods.

All learners who are interested, as well as those who are identified by the school, get the opportunity to take part in the eisteddfod. Curro Langebaan annually enters large numbers of participants in a wide variety of categories.

Oratory and debating

Apart from internal competitions that take place in both home and additional languages, learners have the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of competitions, such as the ATKV and eisteddfod.

The foundation phase, primary school and high school take part in separate categories.
