The King's School Nursery School

Academics

The King’s School is an independent nursery school in Linbro Park, Sandton, that provides high-quality early childhood development for children from 2 years to 5 years. As a Curro Select school, our small class sizes and holistic approach to education based on Christian values (ethics and morals) allow our dedicated teachers to engage each child in our internally developed play-based curriculum and build strong, caring relationships with each child.

What do we offer?

We provide a safe, nurturing environment where children are cared for and engaged in play-based developmental activities. As a Curro Select school, our nursery school classrooms are designed to encourage educational curiosity, while our playgrounds are equipped with play structures that inspire physical development through movement and play. With small class sizes, dedicated teachers, and teacher’s assistants that follow Christian values (ethics and morals), we provide a safe, home away from home.

How do we support your child’s development?

Our internally developed programme is designed with the Early Learning and Development Areas (ELDAs) in mind and aims to stimulate physical, social, emotional and cognitive well-being through developmental activities and engaging play areas. ELDAs focus on early childhood development aspects such as gross motor development, fine-motor development, social awareness, communication, spatial awareness and arts.

We focus on the ELDAs

By incorporating the latest research in physical and cognitive development in our nursery school, our carefully-designed playgrounds, safety measures and daily programmes create a safe environment where children grow in Christian values (ethics and morals).

The King’s School activities

As a Curro Select school, we believe that participation in extramural activities plays an important role in early childhood development, and building self-confidence, and physical well-being. Our range of activities are offered by external tutors or coaches at an additional cost and take place on the school’s premises.

The King’s School history

Our school was founded in 1986 by Love Reaching Communities Church (then known as Waverley New Covenant). The church’s vision was to provide an opportunity for children to receive an education in a Christian-centred environment, in small class sizes.

The school started as a nursery school of 12 learners and quickly grew to the flourishing school it is today. As of January 2020, we are part of the Curro group as a Curro Select school.
