Our class teachers provide aftercare until 14:00, at an additional cost. The fees include safe supervision at our school and playgrounds.
Teachers have assistants
As a Curro Select school, our classes are divided by age group and teachers' assistants are shared among the groups as needed. Having assistants helps to ensure that each child in our small class sizes get the necessary love and attention.
Indoor and outdoor play areas
Children learn by interacting with the world around them. Therefore, in support of early childhood development, our classrooms themselves are considered inanimate teachers of sorts. Through our affordable school fees, these areas allow maximum room for play and movement while being stimulating on a visual and tactile level. An additional indoor play area allows a change in play space on days when the weather doesn’t allow outdoor play.
As a Curro Select school, the outdoor play areas at our nursery school include jungle gyms, sandpits, play houses, shaded areas for creative and sensory play, and more. These areas are designed to encourage physical play, and generally have synthetic grass to prevent allergic reactions. Children at our nursery school are taken outside to play on days with moderate weather conditions to prevent excessive cold or sunburn. Additional safety measures are taken on sunny days.
Our Pre-Preparatory school children can find support from a language and speech therapist, an occupational therapist, and a physiotherapist who specialises in fine- and gross-motor development. In addition to being convenient for parents – sessions take place during school hours – our therapists work alongside class teachers and can observe how children in small class sizes develop during the term.
Teachers have first-aid training
At St George’s Pre-Preparatory, all our teachers have first-aid training and regularly attend courses to ensure that their certification and skills remain up to date.
Carol Arts and Media Centre
The Carol Arts and Media Centre is a multi-functional facility where children at our Curro Select school, and the wider community, can benefit from specialised cultural activities. The centre consists of an art studio, drama studio, modern multimedia library and two computer laboratories. Early childhood development activities in this centre include creation play (art) and speech development.
