Curro Castle Durbanville

Curro Castle Durbanville is an independent nursery school in Sonstraal Heights, Durbanville, that provides high-quality early childhood development for children from 3 months to 5 years. As a Curro Castlewe aim to provide affordable school fees and small class sizes that engage each child in our internally developed play-based curriculum.

What do we offer?

At Curro Castle Durbanville, we provide a safe, nurturing environment where children are cared for and engaged in play-based developmental activities. Through affordable school fees, our classrooms are designed to encourage educational curiosity, while our playgrounds are equipped with play structures that inspire physical development through movement and play. Our small class sizes are divided by age group, which allows our teachers to spend quality time with each child.

How do we support your child’s development?

At our nursery school, our internally developed programme is designed with the Early Learning and Development Areas (ELDAs) in mind. This approach to early childhood development aims to stimulate physical, social, emotional and cognitive well-being through developmental activities and engaging play areas. ELDAs focus on aspects such as gross motor development, fine-motor development, social awareness, communication, spatial awareness and arts.

We focus on early childhood development through the ELDAs

As a Curro Castle, we incorporate the latest research in physical and cognitive development. Our small class sizescarefully-designed playgrounds, safety measures and daily programmes make our nursery school a safe and fun-filled home away from home.

Curro Castle Durbanville activities

As a Curro Castle, we believe that participation in extramural activities plays an important role in early childhood development. Therefore, all Group 3 to Group 5 children are required to participate in three extramural activities (at an additional cost), namely Playball, Music Box, and Little Leaders. Our daily programme is packed with a variety of physical and cognitive activities where children play while they learn, which are included in our affordable school fees. Extramural activities are offered as additional opportunities to strengthen focused areas or hone certain skills. Our extramural activities are offered by external tutors or coaches at an additional cost and take place on the school’s premises.
