At Baobab School, we believe that sport plays an important role in promoting friendship, team-awareness and self-confidence, in addition to physical well-being. While healthy competition is encouraged, the enjoyment of the game is not compromised. We host inter-house activities in all seasonal sports, and teams often enter local leagues in competitive sports.
Activities such as chess further help to stimulate thinking patterns, such as logical analysis and problem-solving, which help to improve aptitude in subjects such as Mathematics.
Clubs and cultural societies
In addition to our enhanced curriculum, our learners have the opportunity to participate in several clubs and cultural societies (including Curro Create), regardless of their interests and academic abilities.
These activities introduce learners to valuable experiences and real-life skills that few other platforms allow. Some extramural activities are aimed at improving or supporting academic learning or mental and physical development, while others are purely recreational.
Value-added programmes that include academic support
Our value-added programmes, which are offered as part of the affordable school fees (see Downloads), include learning-support services to assist learners who need extra academic support, 3D printing, Robotics, music theory and practical classes, and library curriculum classes for all phases.

Baobab School community outreach
At Baobab School, we believe that outreach programmes are important not only to benefit the community, but also to develop appreciation and empathy in our learners. Therefore, we host various outreach programmes during the year and learners are actively involved in all areas of these projects.
Baobab School continues to enlighten our young learners with regards to their moral character and their responsibilities as citizens of this tremendous country. We encourage all learners to lend a helping hand to those around them and to better appreciate and understand the concept of botho (respect) as citizens of a compassionate nation.
