Foundation phase: Grade R to Grade 3
Grade R is the bridge from the tangible world to the world of symbols and numbers in Grade 1. Therefore, we focus on an integrated play-based programme that aims to develop the children’s phonological, literacy, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills in a fun way.
In Grade 1 to Grade 3 we focus on teaching the basic skills, concepts and knowledge required for further learning. We offer a vibrant, invitational atmosphere where learners enjoy coming to school and where they acquire a love for learning that will sustain them throughout their school years. Furthermore, Robotics and chess form part of the curriculum and we create opportunities for personal growth so that learners can become personally responsible and accountable for their actions in the intermediate phase.
Learners further benefit from having an African language as conversational language once a week.
Intermediate phase: Grade 4 to Grade 7
In these grades, the emphasis is still on establishing basic foundations, but learners are led into more abstract thought and independent work. We prepare learners for high school by teaching them how to apply the skills and concepts they have learned. We also promote creativity and critical thinking by encouraging children to make their own choices within well-established boundaries.
Some of our specialised subjects include Technology (including Robotics) and Natural Sciences, and we use e-learning devices in our classrooms from this phase onwards.
