Curro Academy Mbombela learners support workers at Covid isolation unit
A little appreciation is always a huge form of motivation, that is why the learners at Curro Academy Mbombela wanted to show some love and appreciation to our frontline workers. The school identified our very own local Covid Isolation Unit at Rob Ferreira Hospital.
It all started with a fundraiser on Valentine’s Day , where they wore civvies and raised funds in order to be able to put together some care packages.
With the help of their teachers our Nursery and Foundation Phase learners made some posters with personalized messages for the health care workers.
From handmade posters to homemade cookies, the packages where definitely put together with a whole lot of love.
Taking into consideration the safety of our learners and staff two representatives from the Covid Isolation Unit at Rob Ferreira Hospital, were asked to come and collect the packages. On Thursday, 4 March 2021 , a little hand over session with the Executive Head , Mrs Amanda Mashile was conducted in the boardroom.
Mrs Betty Fankomo and Mr Sfiso Mkhabela both registered professional nurses, collected the token of appreciation on behalf of the Covid Isolation Unit and later distributed them to the rest of their colleagues.
