Foundation phase: Grade 1 to Grade 3
In Grade 1 to Grade 3 we focus on teaching the basic skills, concepts and knowledge required for further learning. We offer a vibrant, invitational atmosphere where learners enjoy coming to school and where they acquire a love for learning that will sustain them throughout their school years. The three main learning areas are language, mathematics and life skills that include creative arts and physical education. We also create opportunities for personal growth so that learners can become personally responsible and accountable for their actions in the intermediate phase.
Teaching takes place in English, but Afrikaans and isiZulu are offered as additional language options. Our learners further benefit from having Computer Skills and Robotics as part of the curriculum.
Intermediate phase (Grade 4 to Grade 6) and Grade 7
In these grades, the emphasis is still on establishing basic foundations, but learners are led into more abstract thought and independent work. We prepare them for high school by teaching them how to apply the skills and concepts they have learned. We also promote creativity and critical thinking by encouraging children to make their own choices within well-established boundaries.
Learners use tablets in the classrooms rather than textbooks. This further helps to prepare learners for the ever-changing realities of university and the workplace of the future. Some of our specialised subjects include Robotics and Economic and Management Sciences (in Grade 7). Teaching takes place in English, but Afrikaans and isiZulu are offered as additional language options.
