Charity outreach

Your actions speak so loudly, I cannot hear your words.’ Ralph Waldo Emerson

We aim to assist our community in areas of need and to do so without public accolade.

Outreach at Curro Hillcrest

Run by: Melanie Akal

Various outreaches and charity drives are held throughout the year and all our learners are encouraged to participate when applicable.

These events teach our learners that it is important to care for others and support our communities in need.

Some initiatives to mention:

  • SMILE programme (literacy programme for Grade 5 learners at a local school).
  • Continue to gather and donate clothes for ‘pop-up stores’ and donate school shoes and unused stationery to the underprivileged at the end of the year.
  • Winter warmth campaign, which will bless people with warm items during our cold spells.

Hearts to Hand at Curro Hillcrest Christian Academy
Run by: Carey Roberts

Each grade selects a rural school to partner with and the classes then visit the schools each term to interact with the learners.

Teach, play sport, sing, paint and uplift the community.

Donations of clothes, stationery and food are given as an ongoing project throughout the year.
