At Woodhill College, we believe that sport plays an important role in promoting friendship, team-awareness and self-confidence in addition to physical well-being. We believe that participation in sports life at Woodhill College is key to a well-balanced education. We are comprehensive in our sports activities and also embrace participation in specialised activities, such as equestrian, rock climbing and martial arts – to name a few. While healthy competition is encouraged, the enjoyment of the game is not compromised.

Culture is one of the foundational pillars of developing a well-balanced learner and plays a great role in broadening learners’ reference frameworks. Our learners have the opportunity to participate in several cultural activities, regardless of their interests and abilities in sport or academics.
These activities introduce learners to valuable experiences and real-life skills that few other platforms allow. Public speaking and drama, for example, provide learners with self-confidence and presentation skills that will benefit them well into their professional lives.

We offer two Curro Create programmes aimed at helping learners develop their creative talents to their full potential. Curro Arts Superhero (CAS) is an internal creative mentorship platform with a grading element, where learners are encouraged to discover, develop and display their inherent creative talents.
Learners have the opportunity to participate in the annual Curro Create National Youth Theatre Festival, wherein schools enter a one-act play in any genre and official language. The winning plays are chosen through a series of adjudications by world-class theatre-makers, who closely mentor learners throughout the process.
Extramural activities are offered by external tutors or coaches. They are offered at an additional cost and generally take place on the school’s premises. Some extramural activities are aimed at improving or supporting academic learning or mental and physical development, while others are purely recreational.
Our learners further benefit from various individual sports academies aimed at developing their inherent skills and talents, particularly when the learner shows great aptitude for the sport. Through these academies, which are not seasonally based, professional coaches offer specialised training to learners, as well as further training to school coaches. Thereby, we ensure that all our learners enjoy the best possible coaching for their chosen sport.
