Foundation phase: Grade R to Grade 3
Grade R is the bridge from the tangible world to the world of symbols and numbers in Grade 1. Therefore, we focus on an integrated play-based programme that aims to develop the learners’ phonological, literacy, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills in a fun way. Learners also benefit from specialised offerings such as Robotics, which boost young learners’ creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
In Grade 1 to Grade 3 we focus on teaching the basic skills, concepts and knowledge required for further learning. We offer a vibrant, invitational atmosphere where learners enjoy coming to school and where they acquire a love for learning that will sustain them throughout their school years. We also create opportunities for personal growth so that learners can become personally responsible and accountable for their actions in the intersen phase.
The three main learning areas are language, mathematics and life skills that include creative arts and physical education. Learners further benefit from specialised offerings such as music, chess and environmental appreciation, and have isiZulu as an additional language option.
Intersen phase: Grade 4 to Grade 7
In these grades, the emphasis is still on establishing basic foundations, but learners are led into more abstract thought and independent work. We prepare them for high school by teaching them how to apply the skills and concepts they have learned. We also promote creativity and critical thinking by encouraging children to make their own choices within well-established boundaries.
Some of our specialised subjects include Technology, Computer Literacy, and Robotics, and learners may choose iZulu as an additional language option.
