Foundation phase: Grade R to Grade 3
Grade R is the bridge from the tangible world to the world of symbols and numbers in Grade 1. Therefore, we focus on an integrated play-based programme that aims to develop the learners’ phonological, literacy, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills in a fun way.
In Grade 1 to Grade 3 we focus on teaching the basic skills, concepts and knowledge required for further learning. We offer a vibrant, invitational atmosphere where learners enjoy coming to school and where they acquire a love for learning that will sustain them throughout their school years. The three main learning areas are language, mathematics and life skills that include creative arts and physical education. Learners also benefit from specialised offerings such as Robotics, which boost young learners’ creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Intermediate phase: Grade 4 to Grade 7
In these grades, the emphasis is still on establishing basic foundations, but learners are led into more abstract thought and independent work. We prepare them for high school by teaching them how to apply the skills and concepts they have learned. We also promote creativity and critical thinking by encouraging children to make their own choices within well-established boundaries.
Learners from Grade 6 onwards use tablets in the classrooms rather than textbooks, depending on the subject. This further helps to prepare them for the ever-changing realities of university and the workplace of the future. Some of our specialised subjects include Economic and Management Sciences and various computer classes.
