What do we offer?
At Curro Rivonia, we balance academic excellence with sports and cultural well-being, thereby ensuring that learners develop into well-rounded individuals. Our small class sizes and enriched curriculum provide learners with an inherent dedication to hard work and excellence as well as 21st-century skills to prepare them for the workplace of the future. To that end, our classrooms and facilities are fitted with state-of-the-art equipment and learners may choose between using e-learning devices or textbooks (or a combination thereof) from the intermediate phase onwards.
Our small class sizes allow learners to receive personal attention, which ensures that they achieve to the best of their abilities. Teaching takes place in English, while Afrikaans and isiZulu are offered as additional language options. Our value-added programmes, which are part of the school fees, include extra lessons and support classes, the LectorSA reading programme, leadership development, Siyavula: Maths and Science, robotics lessons, and various STEAMD activities.
We also offer NCV programmes
In addition to preparing for the IEB exam in Grade 12, learners with a Grade 9 pass may choose to follow a career-focused matric through NCV programmes that allows them to specialise from a young age. NCV programmes prepare learners for the workplace or tertiary studies within their chosen field, giving them a head start in life.
What is NCV?
The National Certificate Vocational (NCV) is a high-standard, skills-focused qualification that runs parallel to the National Senior Certificate (NSC). Instead of Grades 10, 11 and 12, learners complete NCV Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4. An NCV Level 4 qualification is on the same NQF level as a Grade 12 certificate.
This career-focused matric qualification allows learners with a Grade 9 pass to choose from various industry-specific programmes, thereby specialising in their field of interest from a young age. Upon completion of each level, learners receive a DHET qualification which is endorsed by Umalusi.

How do we apply 21st-century learning?
At Curro Rivonia, we embrace 21st-century learning by using e-learning devices in the classroom from the intermediate phase onwards. Learners may access study material on e-learning devices or textbooks (or a combination thereof), while assignments and homework are often submitted electronically via the Microsoft Schools Suite. This platform also allows them to collaborate easily and securely with teachers and peers.
Our Robotics and IT labs help learners to develop the skills and knowledge required to understand the real-life result of work done on a computer, while subjects such as Technology include specialised exposure to 3D printing and virtual reality (VR).
