Our nursery, situated at Curro Midrand Sagewood campus, offers an integrated play-based curriculum to learners from 3 years to 5 years. The nursery school is separate from the rest of the school to improve access control and ensure the children’s safety on the campus.
The nursery school applies Curro’s internally developed programme, which focuses on early learning development areas and is designed to stimulate physical, social, emotional and cognitive well-being through developmental activities and engaging play areas.
Our classes are divided by age group and each teacher has one or more class assistants, depending on the number of children in the class. Furthermore, our internally developed programme incorporates the latest research in physical and cognitive development, such as encouraging loose-parts play that boost creativity and curiosity, above playing with single-purpose toys. The programme even includes activities built around large soft bricks that form the important early foundations for later Robotics studies.
We accommodate Grade R learners in our nursery school to help them prepare emotionally for the adjustment to school among older learners. However, as their daily activities and programmes are built in to the foundation phase of primary school, please refer to our primary school webpage for information on our Grade R offering.
