At Curro Krugersdorp we believe that sport plays in important role in promoting friendship, team-awareness and self-confidence in addition to physical well-being. Therefore, we offer a variety of competitive sports activities (D2 League) and all learners who want to participate are allowed to do so. The Curro cup competitions provide an additional competitive opportunity to our learners. Except for tours and camps, these activities are included in the school fees. Swimming and equestrian are acknowledged, but learners must be coached privately. While healthy competition is encouraged, the enjoyment of the game is not compromised.
Activities such as chess, further help to stimulate thinking patterns such as logical analysis and problem-solving, which help to improve aptitude in subjects such as Mathematics.

Culture is one of the foundational pillars of developing a well-balanced learner and plays a great role in broadening learners’ reference frameworks. Our learners have the opportunity to participate in several cultural activities, regardless of their interests and abilities in sport or academics.
These activities introduce learners to valuable experiences and real-life skills that few other platforms allow and we encourage all our learners to participate. Public speaking, for example, provides learners with self-confidence and presentation skills that will benefit them well into their professional lives.

We also offer Curro Create programmes aimed at helping learners develop their creative talents to their full potential. Curro Arts Superhero (CAS) is an internal creative mentorship platform with a grading element, where learners are encouraged to discover, develop and display their inherent creative talents.
Learners have the opportunity to participate in the annual Curro Create National Youth Theatre Festival, wherein schools enter a one-act play in any genre and official language. The winning plays are chosen through a series of adjudications by world-class theatre-makers, who closely mentor learners throughout the process.
