At Curro Holdings Ltd: Private College – Midrand, our school environment allows learners to follow NCV programmes among peers in the same age group. We offer on-site learner support and state-of-the-art facilities such as various laboratories and workshop.
Due to the notional hour requirements of NCV, we operate longer school days than regular schools. That further supports our no-homework policy and prepares learners for the demands of the workplace or tertiary studies.
Which NCV programmes do we offer?
We offer the following NCV programmes on Level 2, with Level 3 and Level 4 phasing in from 2021:
- Information Technology and Computer Sciences
- Electrical Infrastructure Construction
- Engineering and Related Design
What are the pass requirements?
Assessments are conducted via assignments, tests and examinations. Most assignments and tests are set by the college, while the external examinations are set by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).
To pass each level, learners need to achieve the minimum percentage for each subject:
- English First Additional Language: 40%
- Life Orientation: 40%
- Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy: 30%
- Four programme-specific subjects: 50%
What is our registration status?
Curro Holdings Ltd is provisionally registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training as a Private College in terms of Section 31(3) of the Continuing Education and Training Act, 2006 (Act No. 16 of 2006) and Regulation 14(4)(b) of the Regulations for the Registration of Private Further Education and Training Colleges, 2007, to offer the National Certificate Vocation qualification in accordance with the criteria for providing continuing education and training as defined in the Act. This provisional registration is valid until 31 December 2022.
