What do we offer?
At Curro Aurora, we balance academic excellence with sports and cultural well-being, thereby ensuring that learners develop into well-rounded individuals. Our small class sizes and enriched curriculum provides learners with an inherent dedication to hard work and excellence as well as 21st-century skills to prepare them for the workplace of the future. To that end, our classrooms and facilities are fitted with state-of-the-art tools and learners may choose to use tablets in the classrooms rather than textbooks from Grade 6 in the intermediate phase.
Our dedicated teachers give learners personal attention in the classroom, which helps to ensure that they achieve to the best of their abilities. We also offer value-added programmes as part of the school fees, that include character-building programmes, career guidance and entrepreneurship skills. Our learners further benefit from having Afrikaans and isiZulu as additional language options from primary school.
Which activities do we offer?
We believe that participation in activities plays an important role in promoting health, team-awareness, discipline and self-confidence in addition to physical and social well-being. Therefore, we offer a wide variety of sports and cultural activities, including Curro Create programmes, aimed at helping learners discover their inherent talents and broaden their exposure beyond their current reference framework. These activities are at a minimum cost in addition to the school fees.
How do we use technology in the classroom?
At Curro Aurora, we embrace 21st-century learning by using tablets in the classroom from Grade 6. Rather than heavy textbooks, learners use software to view and study from an e-book, which also allows them to collaborate easily and securely with teachers and peers.
We have Robotics and IT labs
Our Robotics and IT labs help learners to develop the skills and knowledge required to understand the real-life moving result of work done on a computer, while subjects such as Technology include specialised exposure to 3D printing and virtual reality (VR). Using innovative technology allows teachers to provide a wealth of information at the touch of a button and better prepares learners for the workplace of the future.
