We celebrated the life and work of Nelson Mandela by devoting 67min of our day to our community.

The learners of Meridian Pinehurst made a sandwich production line and managed to make 6137 sandwiches which we donated to Ekululukweni Primary school in Wallace Dene, Kraaifontein. The marketing team handed the sandwiches to the 1587 learners of the school.

This was a truly humbling experience. A big thank you to ALL our parents for your support by sending bread and spreads to school. We really appreciate your contributions!!

On Friday, 15 March 2013, Meridian Pinehurst school held their very first parent social with the theme Tackie Tree, Fun Walk. Our parents had the opportunity to 'explore' our campus during the fun walk and after the walk they donated their old shoes to the Durbanville Children's Home. In the evening, Johanna Strauss from the DCH was there to receive this donation.

We would like to thank ALL parents, learners and staff members who were present on the evening. Meridian Pinehurst managed to donate over 200 pairs of shoes!

We truly showed that MERIDIAN CARES!!

Dear parents

Your contribution to our successful CANSA SHAVATHON 2013 enabled us to raise R2 000, which we donated to CANSA at the Cape Gate Shopping Centre.  CANSA raised R 40 766,55 from Cape Gate Shopping Centre – making them the centre to have raised the most income out of 15 shopping centres in Cape Town.

CANSA Shavathon 2013 took place in all nine (9) provinces, from metropolitan areas to semi-rural and rural areas. Thousands of South Africans joined the fight against cancer. Events were held at a broad range of workplaces, educational institutions, sporting events, community festivals and shopping centres. Meridian Pinehurst school joined through our main project called Meridian CARES.  Funds generated at the CANSA SHAVATHON will be dedicated to provide a comprehensive cancer-control programme in South Africa, including early detection and screening, care of patients and their families, Care Homes and a toll-free information service.

The success of the event is dependent on the goodwill of wonderful people like you and we are grateful for the support we received.

A big thank you from Meridian Pinehurst
