In the Foundation phase focus is on basic skills, concepts and knowledge, which are required to further and enhance learning. In this phase, a vibrant, invitational atmosphere invites learners to enjoy school, learning, development and achievement. There is less focus on competition and more on individual strengths. Opportunities for personal growth and independence are created. Learners are challenged to take responsibility for their actions in preparation for the Intermediate phase.
