Waterstone College offers a unique Enrichment Programme, which gives Grade 4 to 7 learners the opportunity to experience additional sports or activities that are not covered in the normal curriculum. The Enrichment Period takes place during school time, on a Thursday morning.
The Enrichment options change every term and activities have included Archery, Cooking, Ultimate Frisbee, Games and Brain Teasers, Mountain Biking, Golf, Guitar for beginners, Newspaper, Pilates, Cricket, Hockey, Netball, Soccer, Stage Make-up, Woodwork, Website Design, Chess, Driver Readiness Training, Fencing, Tango Dancing, Ballroom Dancing, Chocolate Making, Drama, Karate, Knitting, Painting, Self-Defence, Image Consulting, Scrapbooking and Badminton.
Some activities are offered at the College, while for others learners travel to nearby facilities. All activities are facilitated by qualified coaches and trainers.
Grade 1 to 3
In addition, learners in Grade 1 to 3 may attend lessons with external service providers, including dance, Zulu, horse riding, Semas (maths enrichment programme) creative crafts and gymnastics, outside of normal school hours provided that it does not clash with their compulsory school extra-mural activities.
Pre-School (Grade 00 and 0)
The above activities for Grade 1 to 3 are also available to pre-school children and in addition may also do the following: Playball, Gymkids, Monkeynastix and Manners 4 Minors.
