Primary School

At Curro Thatchfield our early childhood development centre caters for children in Group 5 and Gr R.

In this phase we focus on four principles:

  1. The unique child: Curro recognises that every child is a competent learner from birth and can be resilient, capable, confident, and self-assured.
  2. Positive relationships: children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and/or a key person (educator).
  3. Enabling environments: our environment plays a key role in supporting and extending a child’s development and learning.
  4. Learning and development: our children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates and all areas of learning and development are equally important and are inter-connected.
  • We have created a centre of learning where children can realise their full potential by providing a comprehensive, individual-orientated educational programme of the highest standard.
  • Curro provides a sound foundation for completing the tasks and meeting the challenges of future learning.
  • We create an environment of opportunity where the child acquires general knowledge, the right attitudes and ethical and moral principles.
  • We encourage and teach each child social and life skills in a warm and loving environment.
  • We acknowledge that each child is an individual and we allow them to work at their own pace.
  • We create a sound and safe environment where each child is extended and growth is encouraged academically, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually.
