Brian believes that to prepare pupils for the 21st century, we should focus on skills such as collaboration, creativity, confidence and the ability to communicate well and interdependently. We are preparing the pupils for a career that might not yet exist. That is why the African proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child” is more of a reality in the global village we live in today. We live in a tough economic climate and that is why the school, parents and the community need to work hand in hand to raise young leaders that will make a difference in the world they live in.

Brian is a family man who loves sport, camping and the outdoors. He has been married to Irma, a language teacher at Kingsmead College, for almost thirteen years. Brian is also the proud father of two daughters, Irné (10) and Rouxlé (7) and son, Ryan (2). Being a parent, Brian understands the importance of education, never forgetting to nurture and to ensure the happiness of every child.
