Biography of Oriol Morgan
Mrs Oriol Morgan has been in education for the past eighteen years. She embarked on her educational journey at Allen Glen High School in 1998 where she taught Typing, Business Studies and Economics to learners from Grade 8 to Grade 12. Additionally, she was Grade Head for the Class of 2004.
In 2007, she embarked on an exciting journey with Aurora Private School in Sundowner, where she obtained a promotion post as Head of Department for the Commerce Department. She taught Accounting, Business Studies and Economics to learners from Grade 8 to Grade 12.
Mrs Morgan, was promoted to the role of Whole School Quality Assurer in 2010. In the same year, she moved into the role of Deputy Principal of the FET Phase. This move coincided with the buy-over of Aurora Private School by Curro. In 2011, she was appointed as the Head of Academics at Curro Aurora and served in this role until 2015.
It would be remiss not to mention that in 2013 Mrs Morgan decided to return to the University of the Witwatersrand, on a part-time basis to embark on a second qualification – an Honours Degree in Education. She specialised in school leadership and management and conducted her research on low cost private schooling in South Africa, with a specific focus on the Curro Academy model. She graduated in July 2016.
Mrs Morgan has been married for eighteen years to Malcolm Morgan. They reside in Allens Nek and are the proud parents of Jason (15) and Matthew (11).
